Chiggy Nsofor Foundation Enhances Healthcare Access with Drug Donations in Jikwoyi, Abuja

Our commitment to our mission to provide essential support to vulnerable communities was demonstrated via our medical donation outreach at Jikwoyi Primary Health Care Clinic.

The core of the outreach centered on the donation of a substantial inventory of medications. Recognizing the high financial barrier many vulnerable families face in accessing basic treatment, we strategically included a diverse range of high-demand drugs.

The donated supplies included: Antimalarials: Crucial for tackling the endemic threat of malaria, especially as the rainy season transitions.

Broad-Spectrum Antibiotics: Essential for treating common bacterial infections that often go unchecked.

Analgesics and Anti-inflammatories: To manage pain, fever, and discomfort.

IV Fluids and Infusions: Vital for stabilizing severely dehydrated or critically ill patients.

Crucially, we stipulated that these high-quality medicines will be sold to the community at a significantly subsidized price. This sustainable model ensures the facility can maintain a revolving fund to restock supplies while making life-saving healthcare affordable for every resident.

This initiative is a tangible expression of Chiggy Nsofor Foundation’s broader healthcare mission, which is dedicated to breaking down financial barriers to medical services for vulnerable individuals and communities across Nigeria. By focusing on primary health care centers, CNF aims to strengthen the grassroots institutions that are the first line of defense against disease.

Pharm. Yakubu Awodi, a representative from the Abuja Municipal Area Council, was in attendance and offered high praise for the Foundation’s philanthropic efforts. In his remarks, he commended CNF for taking proactive steps to support public health but also stressed the vital need for sustainability and accountability within such programs, urging the clinic to manage the donated resources judiciously for maximum long-term benefit. An agreement was reached that the drugs will be sold with a 1.08 markup from the initial cost price.

Nr. Sally Adegbite, the Matron of Jikwoyi Primary Healthcare Clinic, expressed her profound gratitude. She highlighted that the donation was not just about drugs but about restoring faith in the clinic’s ability to serve the community effectively. The supplies are expected to drastically improve their capacity to treat a higher volume of patients with dignity and efficiency.

Chiggy Nsofor Foundation’s action in Jikwoyi serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that private philanthropy can have when directly targeted at the point of greatest need, cementing the CNF’s role as a proactive partner in community development.
